Oxon reconfirms the Oracle JD Edwards platform


The Sipcam-Oxon group is a set of private and independent companies that operate in the field of chemistry. Founded in 1946 and driven by modernization of the agriculture, now the Group occupies the top position in the agrochemical market and plays an increasingly role key points of the global map, through controlled or shared companies and production facilities.

In order to support the growth of a rapidly evolving company, information systems must be performing, secure and reliable. On this basis Sipcam-Oxon has decided to develop the preexisting ERP system, confirming JD Edwards, today part of the Oracle offer, as a reference platform, reflecting not only the value of the selected technology, but also, the guarantees that it offers in term of sustainability and protection of the investments.

  • create a single and secure access point to the application;
  • minimize organizational impact and project costs;

The solution


The migration project was developed with GN support, a company that has an high know-how on the reference technology.

We provided to the upgrade of the entire technology platform on which the ERP application bases, the upgrade of the operating system and of Oracle Database.

The updgrade took about 9 months and it was completed as expected and respecting the budget.

The update also allowed us to activate for all the system users (about 200) the web access to data of their competence.

The system allows a rapid, easy and secure access to the Data Center sited in Salerano (Lodi), even to remote users, especially those who work near warehouse located throughout Italy.

We have reached the goal of reducing operating costs, while in the future a further system consolidation is expected.
